Lazy Saturday

I just layed around today doing nothing. It felt great. I've been fighting a cold for three days. I think I'm finally winning. When I'm up I'm not so congested, it's when I lay down. Wednesday night I went to Wal-Mart and I bought five boxes of Kleenex (one for every room), two bags of Hall's cough drops (Cherry and Honey), a box of Alka-Seltzer Plus (Citrus Flavored) and a bottle of Robitussin cough syrup for the battle. I've been gargling to keep the tickle out of my throat and taking Thera-Flu at lunch and before I go to sleep. I also rubbed some Vick's under my nose to help my breathing. I slept pretty good and I didn't miss any work but I was sneezing a lot and coughing and sucking on cough drops. Every year when they weather changes it seems like I get this cold. These common colds must be big business for those companies. I wonder what people did before we had all these remedies. Colds are miserable.

Last night my oldest son's team had a basketball game at St. Mary's in Downer's Grove. They lost a close one 19 to 18. It was a battle. The other team was a lot taller and more physical. They lost to the same team earlier this year in the winter tournament. My youngest son's team doesn't have a game this week. We got home at 10:00 p.m and watched "The Simpsons" and "Malcolm In The Middle." We then stayed up and watched a DVD I got from the library "Matchstick Men" with Nicholas Cage. It was about a con man who got conned.

I finished reading "Morgan's Passing" by Anne Tyler and started another book by her. I finished reading "Legal Aspects of Life Insurance" the second time and now have to gear up for the test. I hope it sunk in. I don't want to have to take it again. I got called for jury duty and have to call in next week to see if I have to show up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I was called one other time and didn't have to go.
